Meet Caitlin, our November Athlete of the Month!

Being a busy, working mom with three kids, she’s someone who could have plenty excuses, but she’s consistent and makes none.  She understands what it means to put herself first and be a good example to her family.  Caitlin is quiet, but fierce.  Give her an assault bike or rower and she’s guaranteed to dominate, but watch her with box jumps :)  We love having Caitlin a part of our Osiris family and are her biggest cheerleader as she crushes her goals!

What’s your athletic background?

I’ve played sports my entire life, but in high school, basketball became my passion. I played Varsity basketball all 4 years of high school and then played in college at UW-River Falls.

When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris?

I began with boot camp in February 2019 and joined the Crossfit team in May 2019.

What keeps you coming back?

The people for sure! I love the workouts, but the amazing people and coaching staff make it so much fun!

If you could write the WOD, what would it be?

I like variety, but my favorite workouts typically include the bike, running, power cleans and box jumps (despite my mishaps with the box).

What are some of your goals, fitness or personal?

My fitness goals are to keep getting stronger and keep showing up. I have never been the strong athlete, but every week, I can tell I’m getting a little bit stronger. It makes me excited to keep working to see how far I can get!

List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit.

The biggest improvement is that I no longer despise lifting! Before CrossFit, I would only do cardio workouts and never wanted to entertain doing anything with weights. Now, although weights still aren’t my favorite, I am starting to hate them less.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Spending time with my family, cooking/baking and going on walks with my kids.

What’s your favorite cheat meal?

Sushi or anything fried

What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?

Do it! It looks intimidating at first, but the coaches will help modify anything that you need to modify. Not only are the workouts great, but the community is worth it!

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

I have a husband of 7 years and 3 kids (ages 9, 6 and 4). Sports is a huge part of our family and something we all enjoy doing/watching together. I currently work for the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority in the Section 8 department and have been there for almost 4 years. I grew up in Minneapolis and my parents still live in the house I grew up in.

How often do you attend?

I typically attend 6 days a week

What class do you typically attend?

I am currently doing the 5:30am classes
