1. What’s your athletic background?

As a kid, I tried them all: soccer, dance, basketball, swimming, volleyball, football, baseball, track, etc. Moving into high school I narrowed it down to diving, gymnastics, track and softball. As for college, I played centerfield for Augustana College. And for a short time after that I played a little football with your fearless leader, Vanessa. She introduced me to CrossFit and I have been hooked since.

2. When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris?
I believe my hubby, Joe and I started about a month or two after the doors opened. We lived in St Louis Park at that time, so it was quite the drive.
3. What keeps you coming back?
The community keeps me coming back! Our leaders are amazing and the whole organization makes working out fun…or at least bearable  oh and the good lookin CEO
4. If you could write the WOD, what would it be?
3hr AMRAP 12oz (or 16oz for Rx) bicep curls
Ok for real: 3 rounds
400m row
10 bench press
5 push press
1 bar muscle up
5. What are some of your goals, fitness or personal?
Goal #1 is always to not die during the workout – so far so good  But my other goals are to keep my strength, flexibility, heart and body healthy. CrossFit concentrates on core fitness and since I fractured a vertebrae in high school and have had issues with my back since, CF keeps me strong.
6. List 1 or 2 improvements you’ve seen since starting CrossFit:
Community fun & belonging and keeping toned & active. Osiris is a gym where I meet people that I never would have met otherwise. People that value me and that I value. People that support and push me to be better today than I was yesterday.
7. How do you spend your free time?
Volleyball and snowboarding in the winter, golf and boating in the summer. Lots of time with family and friends and I am always up for a trip….literally anywhere!
8. What’s your favorite cheat meal?
My favorite cheat meal is Alcohol. Lots and lots of vodka/white claws/sours/high noons  ok so for real, fettuccini. I love me all the carbs.
9. What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Scaling is life! It is truly the best way to do you. Don’t be intimidated by all the pros, everything is within your reach and is truly individualized! It’s a great workout for people who hate working out – like me!
10. Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
My mother had me tested as a child for balance issues because I fell and hurt myself so often (they claimed I was normal); my first stitches were five minutes after being dropped off at day care, I ran into the corner of a table; my brother cartwheeled into my face to help me lose my front two teeth; I had my appendix out when I was 15; I have jumped out of two perfectly good planes; I played in the LFL for two years; all in all, I am accident prone and slight reckless.
11. How often do you attend?
I TRY to make it three times a week. Some weeks I come up short, but such is life.
12. What class do you typically attend?
I love love love the 8:30 class when I have a day off. Also noon on days off and then usually a 4:30 on days I work. If you find me at a 5:30 am class, please send me home I am drunk!
