Have you met January’s Athlete of the Month Ian Schlechter, yet? If not, you’ll instantly like him – wow, is he sweet with kindness and sense of humor. You can always count on him for a genuine smile and giving it everything he has. Ian attends classes three days a week and is crushing goals!
What’s your athletic background? I don’t have any athletic background unless you count working out at the gym, and playing playground games with the kids at work.
When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris? I started working out during the second session of boot camp last year, 2018.
What keeps you coming back? I keep coming back because of the non-judgmental environment, and the awesome coaches. Osiris is full of nothing, but good company.
If I had to write the WOD what would it be? I would have to say something that focuses on my core more. I am always trying to strengthen my abs.
What are some of your goals, fitness or personal? Some of goals would be to remain sane lol. But mostly just to keep being better than yesterday.
List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit. Ever since I started going to Osiris I have seen some improvements like I have more energy and I sleep a lot better at night. I am also not as depressed as I was when I started so that’s a plus.
How do you like to spend your free time? Well, when I have free time it usually means that I am sleeping. I work most of my weekdays and on the weekends I am getting chores done around the house. So, I like to catch up on sleep when I have time to.
What’s your favorite cheat meal? My favorite cheat meal is Mexican food. I love a good fried Chicken Ruleta from El Toro.
What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit? Just do it. There’s no better time than the present.
