This guy might be quiet, but he’s fierce. Pick a spot next to him while working out and he’ll push you to keep going. I’m not sure if he ever takes rest breaks – he might be a robot!

This guy might be quiet, but he’s fierce. Pick a spot next to him while working out and he’ll push you to keep going. I’m not sure if he ever takes rest breaks – he might be a robot! Here’s to Jeff Lundgren our Athlete of the Month – a husband, dad, full-time worker, and a kick-butt CrossFitter!

1. What’s your athletic background?

Played baseball and basketball growing up and started playing football in High School.  That quickly became my favorite sport and I played in a touch football league in White Bear Lake for about 8 years after High School along with Softball.

2. When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris?

February of 2018.

3. What keeps you coming back?

The people and the coaches are awesome.  I workout over lunch mostly and it’s just a great way to break up the day.  If I’m having a tough start to the day I look forward to CrossFit even more because it helps me burn off steam.  I just feel better overall when I’m going regularly and I feel
off when I miss a workout so I guess it’s kind of like an addiction.

4. If you could write the WOD, what would it be?
That’s tough.  I like having the workout figured out for me.  I guess something with cleans and maybe DUs.  Here goes:
12 min AMRAP
5 Power cleans at a moderate to heavy weight
75 DUs
15 burpees
If I was to target my weaknesses it would involve anything with overhead squats and running.

5. What are some of your goals, fitness or personal?

I’d like to compete at something whether it’s CF or a sport.  I started skijoring (cross country skiing with a dog) last year and might enter a race this winter.  Other than that my goal is to workout 4 times per week.

6. List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit.

Picking one or two is hard.  I just feel more in-balance all around and I hope that makes me a better husband and dad.

7. How do you like to spend your free time?

Love to go camping and spend time outside.  I also really like to spend time in northern MN hunting in the fall and fishing in Canada in spring.

8. What’s your favorite cheat meal?

Pizza and an IPA.  Or 2.

9. What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?

Go for it.  It’s awesome.  I hated going to the gym and now I look forward to workouts.  If you haven’t worked out in a while be patient and listen to your body.

10. Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

Right now my world revolves around my almost 2 year old daughter Alma.  My wife Lindsay and I drag her and our chocolate lab Dakota everywhere with us.

11. How often to you attend classes?
3 times per week on average, try to average 4.
