Now that we’re OPEN, our Athlete of the Month is back at it! We’re so excited to see his face inside the gym crushing his workouts. It’s summer, so it means it’s officially camping season, which is something he and his family do regulary. Nothing better than the outdoors! It’s almost impossible to find a picture of Steve by himself; it’s usually him and his beautiful wife taking selfies on some wild adventure. Steve, we are so excited to cheer you on, in-person! Thank you for being a consistent part of our community!!!
1.What’s your athletic background?
Played hockey as a youth. That’s about it.
2.When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris?
April 2018 I think.
3.What keeps you coming back?
I love all the coaches and the community. Everybody cheers you on.
4.If you could write the WOD, what would it be?
NOT BURPEES. I like chipper WOD’s, it challenges you both mentally and physically to keep going.
5.What are some of your goals, fitness or personal?
My fitness goals, just trying to get a little better each time.
My personal goals, keep with my nutrition goals and be a better person.
6.List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit.
I started running again, after 1 mile I was done, but now I can do 3 miles. More energy to get through the day.
7.How do you like to spend your free time?
Sitting around a fire with friends and camping.
8.What’s your favorite cheat meal?
Pizza and beer. God’s gift to us.
9.What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Some days it’s hard, but don’t give up. If you need help ask, the coaches are always ready to help.
10.Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
I have been married for 30 years and have 5 kids.
11.How often do you attend?
3 days a week.
12.What class do you typically attend?
Usually evening classes sometimes a noon.
