The laughs, jokes, and strength that Amie emits during class make her a core member of Crossfit Osiris!
Meet our February athlete, Amie Beckel! She might have one of the best answers yet: read the last one! Osiris is right down the road from Muddy Cow and it’s the “running” joke; perhaps it has really happened She’s a part of the evening crew, who is super tight-knit. The laughs, jokes, and strength that Amie emits during class make her a core member of Crossfit Osiris! Oh, the best part? It’s her birthday this month, so give her all the loving!!
What’s your athletic background? – I played HS soccer and tennis and then didn’t do anything again until I was in my mid 30’s when I joined a running club, which got me back into fitness and eventually led me to CrossFit.
When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris? January of 2018 – the first bootcamp!
What keeps you coming back? The community, especially my 6:30pm crew! But really you can go to any time slot and always feel welcomed. That is what I love about it.
If you could write the WOD, what would it be? Run to the Muddy Cow, 10min time cap? J/K – I think if I could write a WOD it would have deadlifts and box jumps.
List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit. I’ve been more consistent in both fitness and nutrition and even if there aren’t huge changes, I do feel like certain things are easier, like several flights of stairs don’t get me winded, or picking up heavier objects doesn’t feel daunting.
How do you like to spend your free time? Reading, watching shows, traveling.
What’s your favorite cheat meal? I would say my go to is pizza or any dessert. I have a sweet tooth for sure.
What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit? You won’t regret it. It looks intimidating, but any one can do it at any level of fitness and no one judges for modification.
Anything else you’d like to share about yourself? I didn’t really think I would like CrossFit and had really hoped Vanessa would just keep bootcamp going, but 4 years later this is the most consistent I’ve been with fitness in my adult life and I love the friendships and community that goes along with the fitness.
How often do you attend? 3x per week
