We have TWO Athletes to celebrate this month – Thomas & Sam! The two love birds are tying the knot in 19 days!! ️They are incredible athletes, give everything they got, and emit positivity to those around them. Our community is excited to celebrate them this month and be their biggest cheerleaders in their journey inside & outside of the gym!

1. What’s your athletic background?
S: I played volleyball in
7th and 8th grade, but other than that I was never much of an athlete.
T: I was a multi-sport athlete growing up, playing football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and track & field

2. When did you start working out at CrossFit Osiris?
S & T: April 2018

3. What keeps you coming back?
S: The community and how great I feel after a class!
T: The people, honestly, I’ve never encountered a more supportive and inspirational group of people who will always strive to better themselves and others when the struggle kicks into high gear. I’ve never been more motivated to push myself than when I’m in the middle of a WOD and I hear the shouting and cheering in the background helping be dig a little deeper for that extra push.

4. If you could write the WOD, what would it be?
S: 3 Rounds for Time: Row 200m, 10 backsquats, 20 deadlifts, 30
push-ups, 400m farmer carry
T: 30 min time cap: 10 push press at 135/115lbs., 20 pull ups, 30 (15 each leg) suitcase lunges at 45/35lbs., 40 toes to bar/mod 60 leg or knee raises, 50 wall balls at 20/14lbs.

5. What are some of your goals, fitness or personal?
S: To get healthier!
T: Really hone in on gymnastic type workouts as well as work on my stamina. I’ve always wanted to do handstand walks and muscle-ups since I first found out about CrossFit. Stamina is just something I’ve always struggled with as a bigger individual, but I’ve found that watching what I fuel my body with as well as working on more cardio-involved movements will definitely get me where I want to go.

6. List one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit.
S: I feel stronger and more confident!
T: I definitely have a lot more energy to do things, both in everyday life and in outside activities with friends and family. I also feel a lot more positive and look for the silver lining in a lot of situations.

7. How do you like to spend your free time?
S: Walking my dog, frolfing, and crafting
T: I’ve kind of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to my free time. I’m a big fan of the outdoors, hiking and biking, etc. I’m also kind of a big nerd and like to play video games and Dungeons and Dragons.

8. What’s your favorite cheat meal?
S: McDonald’s 10 piece chicken nugget meal
T: I’m a big sucker for Chinese food, it’s sooooo good!

9. What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
S: It’s not as bad as it looks ;)
T: Do it! If you have anything mentally or physically holding you back, don’t worry – the coach is there to help. You won’t find a better place or a better environment to better yourself!

10. Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
S: Nope!
T: Other than being a big goof (Sam’s words), I’m just a guy who is up for a good adventure and is always excited to try something new.

11. How often do you attend?
S: 3 times a week
T: As often as I can! I usually aim for 5 days a week, sometimes life has other plans though.
