You can see that cheerleader in her as soon as she walks through the doors each day with a big smile on her face, a positive attitude, ready to cheer on whoever needs it!
Our November Athlete of the month has always been athletic, starting and sticking with Cheerleading as her sport of choice for most of her life. You can see that cheerleader in her as soon as she walks through the doors each day with a big smile on her face, a positive attitude, ready to cheer on whoever needs it! Not only that, but she is always ready and determined to tackle whatever new movement, weight, or distance is thrown at her that day. We are so glad that Raven found us and joined our community, we can’t imagine our Osiris Family without her!
What’s your athletic background?
I’ve been involved in cheerleading and cheernastics since I was 4 years old. My Mom said I had to go to the school that was offering me the most scholarship money, so that’s how I became a Gopher Cheerleader. After college I cheered for the Vikings, for 2 games, but ultimately quit because I was making more money doing bottle service, during the Vikings games – HA! I dabbled in Track and Field in high school and made it to state for the 400 and 4×4, but cheerleading had my heart.
What has your experience been like at CF Osiris?
Prior to meeting Vanessa for my consultation meeting, I attended another CrossFit gym in Highland Park. After about 6 months, I quit because I didn’t feel welcomed or encouraged. Fast forward 21 months later, I met with the one we all know and love, Vanessa Biernat. I ultimately chose Osiris because of her. Her encouragement during orientation weeks, her energy during my 1st week of class and the continuous inclusivity I felt from the beginning. Couple all of that with having a chance to meet and get to know you all – I was hooked!
What keeps you coming back?
Hands down the people.
What would you say to someone who is on the fence about starting CrossFit?
You’re going to make so many friends! It takes awhile to get the hang of it and that’s okay. You will never be bored because the workouts are different everyday. It’s a sport for all because you don’t need prior athletic ability and everything is customizable.
What are some of your fitness goals?
Wellll, it was to hit a certain number on the scale *Cue nutrition mtgs with Tasha and Raven crying* but now it’s just to continue toning and feeling cute in my clothes.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
A few months ago I would’ve said a Wendy’s $5 Biggie Bag but I don’t eat beef anymore, so I would have to say either 3 Chicken Chalupa Supreme tacos from Taco Bell or the Seaside Shrimp Trio from Red Lobster with hella biscuits on the side and yes, I would like another basket of biscuits right as I’m done eating so I can take them to go (Ah-FREAKIN-Mazing).
